Stage 1 Explained:

In the initial phase of the water treatment process, a multi-stage filtration approach is used to ensure the highest standards of purification. Initially, the system starts with sedimentation, activated carbon filtration, and Multi-Stage Advanced Purification (MSAP) techniques. Through these methods, the system efficiently removes substantial particles, unpleasant odours, undesirable flavours, and prevalent contaminants that may compromise water quality.

Additionally, a self-assembly physical membrane is strategically utilised to counteract the formation of scale crystals derived from calcium and magnesium present in the water, thereby softening potential scaling issues derived from hard water.

Stage 2 Explained: 

The second stage of the purification process, an Ultra Filtration (UF) membrane is introduced to further enhance the filtration effectiveness. This specialised membrane operates at a microscopic level, effectively eliminating particles with remarkable precision, achieving filtration levels as fine as 0.01 micron. By leveraging the cutting-edge technology of UF membranes, the system ensures the removal of even the tiniest impurities, thereby guaranteeing water purity at a superior level. This meticulous filtration process exemplifies a commitment to delivering water of unparalleled quality, meeting the most stringent standards and surpassing expectations for cleanliness and safety.

The final stage re-introduces a coconut shell activated carbon water filter, which is a type of filter used to clean water. It's made from coconut shells, which are treated to become highly absorptive. When water passes through the filter, these tiny holes in the coconut shell carbon trap impurities like chlorine, sediment, and bad tastes. This leaves the water tasting better and cleaner.

Installation

The Hommix Ultra UF can be installed in a variety of ways, the Standard and 3-Way Tap connections are installed in the same way without the need for drilling a new hole if you’ve opted for a Hommix 3-way tap.

The Inline / Existing Kitchen Tap connection however only requires two parts (1/2” BSP Male - 3/8” Push Fit & 1/2” BSP Female - 3/8” Push Fit), pretty much an ‘in and out’ setup, which dispenses filtered cold water. You can find more information on these in the manual but here are a few diagrams to illustrate the different installation options.
